Iglu-Dorf Davos-Klosters
Rebuilt every winter on the slopes above Davos, Iglu-Dorf is a village of snow rather than a permanent hotel. Domes are packed and carved by hand each season, and the whole structure melts back into the mountain when the snow goes.
Sleeping rooms are cut into the snow, carved by artists who work to a new theme each year. Guests sleep on insulated mats inside expedition-grade bags; interior temperatures hold steady a little below freezing regardless of the weather outside.
Evenings follow a fixed rhythm — a hot meal, a snow bar, and an outdoor hot tub under the mountain sky. Access is on foot or by lift from the Davos-Klosters ski area, and the village runs only for the length of the season.
